Mid-20th-century mahogany writing desk, designed and made by Waring & Gillow, Lancaster for Sir William Cocker, Accrington, top with leather inset, surrounded by low gallery, containing two secret compartments, single frieze drawer with fluted decoration, all standing on four square section tapering legs. This piece of furniture is also accompanied by the original drawing from Waring & Gillow in February 1956, however, one of the cabinets on the same drawing was not consigned or made for Sir. William.
