Pair of Derby figures of Milton and Shakespeare

Pair of Derby figures of Milton and Shakespeare circa 1785, after Peter Scheemakers, the bases incised with model numbers 305 and 297, together with repairers monograms of Isaac Farnsworth and Joseph Hill, (2) 27cm high Condition report: Shakespeare has a chip to this coat, one corner of a book, firing cracks running from the base through the figure's join to the pedestal. Milton has similar firing faults as well as chips to his costume the pile of books and his hair. Gilt wear.
