An 18ct gold Etruscan-Revival charm fob
The elegant vintage Amethyst and pearl Etruscan-Revival pendant fob, which is meticulously crafted from 18ct yellow gold, features intricate beaded detail and twisted wire work. This piece has a particularly "royal" look to it, having been designed comparable to the appearance of a crown, supported by regal colours exhibited by the Amethysts, pearls and 18ct yellow gold. Each of the five bezel-set, oval-cut amethysts weighs approximately 2.50cts and has mid-dark violet hues with a crisp, vitreous lustre, and are positioned below four round pearls with lilac/bluish overtones. No hallmark, 4cm in length, stamped "Italy 18ct", gross weight: 15.3g.
These pieces were often created in Italy (often Venice), around the 1880's, and into the mid 20th century. The piece is stamped "Italy".
