Percussion 6 bore wildfowling gun by J. Sampson circa 1840, 35inch barrel engraved J. Sampson 21 South John Street, Liverpool, with platinum breech plug and lining, scroll engraved false breech and long tang, the back action with similar engraving work, chequered stock with silver escutcheon, barrel wedge plate and forend cap, fitted with steel butt plate.
