Cased Alexander Henry .451 percussion target rifle, serial number 657, 32inch browned Damascus serial numbered barrel with Henry rifling, with microadjustable ladder sight and windage adjustable front sight, non-reflective rib, engraved 'Patent 238 .451 Gauge, Alexr Henry 8 South Andrew Street, Edinburgh', colour hardened false breech engraved with a leopard head and fitted with platinum breech plug. The lock with sliding safety catch, reverse scroll hammer, engraved with the maker name along with a stag and tiger within accuthus scroll borders, pistol grip stock with heavy chequered panels fitted with a gold escutcheon, pineapple finial trigger guard bearing the gun serial number, sprung trap to the bottom of the pistol grip and patch box engraved with a lion to the stock.
The oak case with tooled leather interior, indented cornered parchment Alexander Henry trade-label to the lid and gun serial number 657 to the rim. Extensively fitted out with brass loading rod, muzzle protector, take down nipple key and screwdriver, two turn screws, leather sling, Dixon oil bottle, bullet mould, Sykes capping tool, Alex Henry branded 'Extra Quality' powder flask, wad punch, wads, and three turned wood boxes containing percussion caps, spare nipples, and wax wad disks.

THE PERCUSSION CAPS WOULD NEED TO BE REMOVED IF THIS LOT IS TO BE POSTED.

Section 58 (2) Antique / obsolete calibre, can be owned without a licence.
