Wänzl Jägerstutzen (ex-Dornstutzen) M1854/67 13.9mm rimfire short rifle, 27.5inch octagonal to round barrel, fitted with Bogenvisier ‘banana’ backsight and bayonet lug, made by Leopold Wurzinger, the lock stamped with Vienna Arsenal double-headed eagle, and 860 date for 1860, three-quarter length stock with spur trigger guard, and carved cheek piece, faint unit stampings to the butt plate tang thought to signify either 5 Landwehr Regiment (from the Pola/Trieste region) or alternatively 5th Landesverteidigungs (Territorial Defence) detachment.
