Our forthcoming Fine Jewellery & Watches Auction on Thursday 6th August has a fantastic selection of Georg Jensen jewellery, consigned from local collectors across Cheshire. The spectrum of Georg Jensen jewellery on offer incorporates classic Georg Jensen designs, but also showcases some of the fantastic design collaborations that the firm has enjoyed over the years.

This sleek, modern and minimal design is one of Georg Jensen's finest. The elegant and beautifully flowing links of the Infinity designs encapsulate Jensen's design ethos superbly. This wonderful necklace, in pattern number 452 is offered at a fraction of the retail price and with an estimate of £400-600. 

 

Vivianna Torun Bülow-Hübe

Lot 59 - A Georg Jensen 'Forget me Knot' collar, no. 241, £300-400

 

Vivianna Torun Bülow-Hübe is one of Sweden's best known and significant silversmiths of the 20th century. Having created breathtaking 'anti-status' jewellery from 1948 onwards,Torun began designing for Georg Jensen exclusively in 1969. One of her most famed designs is the 'Forget me Knot' collar, and it is this design, in addition to her 'Mobius', 'The Vivianna / Open Watch', 'Beans', and 'Hidden Heart' designs that have gained her notoriety as one of the most famed Jensen collaborators.

 

Regitze Overgaard

Regitze Overgaard has collaborated with Georg Jensen since 1987 and continues to the present day. Graduating from the Copenhagen School of Arts and Crafts in 1976, Overgaard is famed for her voluminous yet light and easy-to-wear designs. This spectacular collar is pattern number 464, and showcases her commitment to design. With polished discs that reflect the light beautifully, this captivating piece is a rare and wonderful example of her work.  

 

Nanna Ditzel

Lot 56 - A Georg Jensen 'Boomerang' necklace, no. 276, £250-350

 Nanna Ditzel is a truly prolific design force. Known for creating beautifully modern furniture, she began her collaboration with Georg Jensen in 1954. Nanna's collaboration was formed when she decided to start designing pieces at home whilst her children slept. Since then, she has gone on to win design awards both for her jewellery and furniture designs.

Lot 51 - A Georg Jensen silver brooch, no. 238, £100-150

 

Arno Malinowski worked with Georg Jensen from 1936-1944, and again from 1949-1965, creating both jewellery and silverware. His jewellery designs frequently feature stylised animal designs, harking back to his earlier career as a sculptor for the Royal Danish Porcelain Manufactory. Our sale features two examples of his Georg Jensen jewellery, incorporating birds and creatures in beautiful brooch designs! 

 

 Henry Pilstrup

Lot 57 - A Georg Jensen silver necklace, £100-200

 Henry Pilstrup became an apprentice to Georg Jensen in 1904 at the age of fourteen. He began designing jewellery for the firm from 1918 and continued until 1957. He was one of the principal designers of earlier Jensen jewellery, and his pieces show a distinct modernity that is particularly sought-after by Jensen collectors.
