James began his career in the antiques trade while studying Classics and Ancient History at Manchester University.  What began as a part-time job in a Chester antiques shop grew into a passion.  A chance to work as an off-screen valuer on Dickinson's Real Deal introduced him to the auction world and he later appeared as a 'Rival Auctioneer' on Channel 5's Auction Showdown.

Since joining Wilson55, James has successfully launched our Modern Art & Design sales, showcasing designer furniture, studio pottery, ceramics, sculpture, glass, paintings and prints.  These dynamic auctions consistently attract collectors and design enthusiasts, with a strong interest in mid-century and Scandinavian pieces.

James' enthusiasm and expertise continue to raise the profile of these exciting sales.
