Valuations

Probate and insurance valuations

Whether you're a first-time seller, a collector looking to downsize, or a solicitor clearing an estate, we can help with every part of selling art and antiques. We also prepare formal valuation reports for insurance, taxation and probate purposes.

Probate and inheritance tax

We provide a confidential, professional service for executors and trustees of estates, solicitors and bankers. We can prepare formal reports for capital gains and inheritance tax, and we work discreetly and responsibly alongside solicitors and executors.

What we offer:

  • A detailed inventory written in line with Section 160 of the Inheritance Tax Act 1984

  • Safe storage of valuable items

  • Arrangement of items into the right specialist auction

  • A house clearance through one of our partners, if needed

Insurance

An insurance valuation reflects the cost of replacing an item soon after loss or damage. Higher-value items often aren't covered automatically under a contents policy. Market values for art, antiques and jewellery also shift, so regular valuations are worth having. Whether it's a single item or a whole collection, our valuations are accepted by all insurance companies and brokers. That means a full and prompt settlement if you ever need to claim.
