What you'll need to request an estimate
The more you can tell us, the quicker and more accurate the estimate. Here's how to give our specialists a clear picture of your item.
Photographs
Take four to six clear, in-focus photos from different angles. Show the whole item, front and back, along with any condition issues, the material or texture, and any markings. If there's a signature or maker's mark, add a close-up so our specialists can check it.
Lighting
Natural light works best. It avoids the glare and reflections that hide detail, though a flash is fine if you need one. Where you can, take the item out from behind glass. Most items show up best against a neutral or white background; silver is the exception, and looks better against something darker.
None of this takes long, and it makes a real difference to how quickly and accurately we can value your item.
