Wine and Spirits
We hold four Fine Wines & Spirits auctions each year and offer a free appraisal service. Our sales include vintage port from years such as 1963 and 1977, Château Pétrus, Rémy Martin Louis XIII Cognac and Midleton Very Rare whiskey.
At our wine and spirits auctions you will find fine and rare wines and spirits, which remain popular with collectors. Alongside port, Champagne, wine, whisky and other spirits by the flask or case, the field also covers accessories such as corkscrews, cases, barrels, wine coolers and decanters.
Classic wines from prominent European vineyards are consistently popular, and interest in New World wines is rising. The market for port remains busy, particularly vintage years such as 1963, 1966, 1970 and 1977, with steady interest in old Scotch and Cognac. Names to watch include Château Pétrus, Rémy Martin Louis XIII Cognac and Warre's port from the 1960s and 1970s.
The wine and spirits field also covers everything around the industry, from simple stoneware casks once used in taverns to elaborate drinking glasses, decanters and silver coasters and labels from the 19th century.
Rarity is a strong factor in value at auction. Even contemporary wines can do well if they are exclusive or unusual enough.
To hold its value, wine needs to have been correctly stored.
