MEET OUR FINE AND RARE WINES & SPIRITS SPECIALIST CONSULTANT PETER HOPKINS



Widely acknowledged as one of the North of England’s leading authorities on wine, Peter’s career is crammed with an astonishing breadth and depth of experience and knowledge.
 
He became the youngest person to pass WSET (Wines and Spirits Education Trust – official education body) Diploma gaining the Moet & Chandon Champagne Scholarship. He has also been awarded Scholarships to, Alsace, Bordeaux, Spain (Penedes) and Portugal.
 
During his many years experience working as a Wine Merchant, Restaurateur and Wine Bar owner, Peter also aspired to the
 
National Title of UK “Sommelier of The Year”
 
and has acted as an
 
Inspector for The Consumers Association “Which?”
 
For many years Peter has been lecturing on Wine, leading vineyard tours and running highly successful wine events. Always in an approachable style Peter draws on his long experience living and working in many of the major wine producing regions of France, Germany, Spain, Portugal and South Africa, to bring a vast depth of knowledge and expertise to the many wine events he runs.
 
Peter is based at PM Wine Services Specialist Independent Wine Consultants in North Yorkshire.  As well as running Corporate Wine tasting and Appreciation Events throughout the UK, Peter acts as an Independent Wine Valuation and Assessment Consultant and has been actively advising Auction Houses for over 25 years.  He currently runs various Wine Appreciation Classes.
