Fine Wines
The Fine Wines offered in the Sale have been stored in exceptional cellars throughout their lives to date and have been laid down as 'en primeur' and unmoved since original purchase directly through agents from the Chateaux and Domaines. Wines are mature and in excellent condition with fill levels exceptionally high throughout the Sale
Included in this Sale are a very fine selection of very good to excellent 'boxed' (OWC - Original Wooden Case) Clarets including Classed Growths and very carefully selected Cru Bourgeois wine - all OWC's have been opened and contents checked.
Also, there are some Fine Red Burgundy and Red Rhône from exceptional Growers.
There is a small range of aged and mature White Burgundy from some of the finest and renowned growers. The vendor of these wines entrusted us to open a few bottles to check and taste. These wines show exceptional character with complexity, style, great length and finesse. They show a more youthful character than their age and maturity suggest. Wines from Comte Lafon, Domaine Leflaive, Vincent Dancer, Marc Morey and Jean Noel Gagnard were outstanding but do not overlook the other growers here.
There are some Fine Vintage Ports not to be missed.

Hin - High in Neck (less than1 cm ullage)
I/n - In Neck (level of wine remains well in the neck of bottle)
Cms. Where Burgundy shaped bottles are concerned fill/ullage levels are referred in cms. With levels up to 7cms. tolerable but the lower (in cms.) will relate to more reliable condition.
Vts - Very Top Shoulder (a small but definable margin between b/n and t/s)
T/s - Definable as "Top Shoulder"
U/s - Upper Shoulder
Mus - Mid Upper Shoulder
M/s - Mid Shoulder
Mls - Mid Lower Shoulder
L/s - Low Shoulder
