Rare Giffard's patent 8mm C02 powered air pistol, serial number 895, manufactured by St Etienne, 10.5inch round barrel bearing manufacture name stamped and gold washed, dovetailed front sight and tangent rear sight, the action engraved with scrollwork, the bolt action numbered 468, the cylinder stamped '3297 Poids Vide 152 Grmes' finely chequered walnut grip with turned boss and finial. Together with a leather case containing a muzzle ring with bead foresight and a round ball mould.
