Staffordshire Parian bust of Captain Mathew Webb circa 1875 published by J.S. Crapper and C. Marsh, Hanley December 6th 1875, 37cm high Captain Matthew Webb was the first man to swim the English Channel in August 1875 from Dover to Calais. Condition report: Large chip to one shoulder, small chip to the other. One medal chipped. Small stained patches. Appears to have been glued to the socle.
