A Collection of British Postal History and Stamps In Two Well Presented and Extensively Annotated Folders, including nine "Free" Frank covers dated 1826-1839 with numerous stamp variations and both morning and evening duty examples displayed, Victorian 1840 1d "Penny" Black (plate 6 with red 'Maltese Cross' cancellation), 1d red plates, numeral cancels with offices including Nantwich, Norwich, Nottingham, Hull, Leeds, Maidstone, Battle, Windemere and Great Yarmouth, 'pre-fix' numerals, 1d blue (on cover, plate 9, perf 12) and three official stamps, also a selection from EVII to EII, Franco-British Exhibition 1908 postcards including one with exhibition postmark, early machine cancellations, slogan postmarks, WWI patriotic labels, British Empire Exhibition 1924-5, and further miscellanea including Victorian 5d Railway Telegraph Office Cancellation, "Poached Egg" label, National Telephone Co., advertising labels, private cachets, Philatelic Congress souvenirs and early 19th century letters bearing unusual or noteworthy marks with additional regional interest.
