Stormoguide
Short & Mason, London

Stormoguide made by Short & Mason, London, copyright 1930. Silvered dial signed S&M 'STORMOGUIDE' with red and black rising and falling aperture below. Retailed by H. Blackham & Son, 44 Lichfield St., Wolverhampton. Mounted in a hexagonal mahogany Art Deco case with brass instruction plate to front stating 'To read the Stormoguide observe the red signal. When appearing in the rising aperture, the outer circle of forecasts should be observed. When appearing in the falling aperture, the inner circle should be observed. Forecasts six to eighteen hours in advance.' Attached above the Stormoguide is a small brass presentation plaque which states the item was 'Presented to William T. Beeston on his retirement by the Officials of the Wolverhampton Corporation, 1942.' 46cm wide, 8.5cm deep, 42cm high.
