"This picture could be any city in any part of Northern England, it is a composite of many paintings I have done in the past - I set out to catch an atmosphere I well remember from pre-war days in the 1930's when times were a little less hectic. This for me as the artist was painting for pleasure. Here hoping this picture brings some pleasure in the future to whoever owns it. Sincerely, Arthur Delaney".
