Oak longcase clock, the associated movement, late 17th century, with square brass face, 25cm, crown and cherub spandrels, silvered roman chapter ring, field engraved with lion masks and foliage, and inscribed John Burges fecit, date aperture, hour finger, single weight movement of four pillars and skeleton plates, anchor escapement, external countwheel striking the hour, in an old oak case of caddy top hood with fruitwood twist columns and glazed sides, cavetto shoulders, slender trunk with lenticle and incised initials, the base with applied mouldings.
