Vice-Admiral Horatio Nelson, 1st Viscount Nelson, 1st Duke of Bronte KB (1758-1805) Autograph, 'Nelson Bronte' contained within a letter from Castlereagh, Minister of War to the Reverend Nelson Downpatrick, the letter reads:
I have to acknowledge your letter of the 14th instant, and in order to comply with your wishes of putting into your son's hand a memorial of (the late) Lord Nelson. I enclose to you the signature of a letter written by him to me a short time before his death. A lock of his hair not being I imagine, attainable. I hope my enclosure will answer your very laudable purpose.
With November 1805 postage-stamped envelope.
