Cased cast of a Sea Trout, with brass plaque stamped Sea Trout 12lbs 10oz. 'Caught by Alfred Wainwright on his birthday 17th Jan 1961, River Esk Santon Bridge Cumbria'
Inside the case is a copy of Pennine Way Companion by Alfred Wainwright.
This fish was on display in the 'Poachers Bar' at the Brook House Inn Eskdale. The vendor who was the landlord of the Brook House Inn bought the fish in Cockermouth from an antique shop, no further information of its history is known.
