Two Herculaneum creamware Dutch enamelled plates circa 1800
Two Herculaneum creamware Dutch enamelled plates circa 1800 one painted with the Sacrifice of Isaac titled 'Gen:22', the other painted with the ordaining of a priest, titled 'Het Priesterchap' (item 218 in the N.C.S. 1993 Liverpool Exhibition) impressed marks to both pieces. (2) 25.5cm diameter Illustrated in The Herculaneum Pottery by Peter Hyland page 52. Condition report: the Sacrifice of Isaac plate has been restored and has old restoration, the priest plate has glaze cracks and small amounts of wear.
