H.W. Mortimer percussion officer's pistol named A.Sleed, 9inch Damascus barrel converted from flintlock, engraved H.W. Mortimer, London Gun Maker to His Majesty, stamped to the underside with serial number 5120, repeated on the stock barrel channel and inside edge of the lock plate, the lock is fitted with sliding safety catch and engraved H.W. Mortimer 89 Fleet St., the stock is fitted with engraved brass furniture including oval escutcheon engraved 'A. Sleed' and fitted with a horn capped ramrod.

This pistol is one of a pair. It's partner sold by Bonhams Lot 451 23 July 2015, also serial numbered 5120 bears different wood grain patterns and dents from age when compared to the pistol in our sale.

Section 58(2) antique/ obsolete calibre no licence required to buy this lot, purchaser must be over the age of 18.
