John Grindall, Dumfries, circa 1889 longcase clock, 8-day two train movement striking on single bell, brass arched dial with rolling moon with day date markers, main dial with ormolu spandrels, silvered chapter ring marked with Roman and Arabic numerals for hours and minutes, central dial with secondary date aperture and minute dial finely engraved with scrolling tendrils, mahogany case with brass finials to canopy, glazed single door enclosed by two classical columns with brass mounts, central long door with quartered columns, each with brass capitals, box base with chamfered corners, all standing on bracket feet.
