Purdey double .410 side by side hammer gun, converted from a Rook Rifle, 27inch barrel (bore pitting) engraved J. Purdey and Sons 314 Oxford Street London, the receiver and back actions delicately engraved with flowers and the maker name, figured chequered stock with cheek rest and vacant escutcheon, serial number 10970, circa 1880.
