WW1 German sniper plate, with with collapsible leg support and swing cover.
Dimensions: 44.5cm x 60cm
This was unearthed by the vendor in Easter 2002. It was found in an old German trench that had been turned round to protect a large British bunker that had been built in the northwest corner of Bernafay Wood. This bunker was blown up in the retreat of 1918 and this and other relics were buried under concrete slabs for 78 years.
