Edward Corbett (1850-1890), Horses at rest in a field, initialled and dated 1861, oil on canvas, 44 x 60cm, 17.25 x 23.75in.
* Though of French origin, Corbett spent most of his career working in England, specialising in the painting of horses and fox hunting scenes. A number of his works were engraved in the Sporting Magazine. He exhibited one work at The Royal Academy in 1854.
