Deadbeat mantel chronometer by Richard Widenham, 23 Lombard Street, London, 1825-30, the sheet brass on oak case of a stepped top with large escapement viewing aperture, arched glass side panels, ogee waist and rectangular platform on cast leaf scroll feet, square silvered Roman dial engraved with leaf scrolls and inked maker's name plate, blued steel hands, centre sweep seconds, the fine quality single chain fusee movement of four pillars, shaped platform, gilt foliate balance cock, large steel balance wheel of six spokes with six cylindrical regulators, blued steel helical spring, the back plate with a central hands set knob and signed Widenham, London, height 28cm (ticks readily and winds; later winding key). *See clocks and watches proviso.
