Enfield Snider .577 breech-loading cavalry carbine, 19inch barrel fitted with folding ladder sight, stamped 'Steel' and secured by one band, MkIII breech block, the lock stamped with a Crown and VR, along with Enfield 1871, numerous War Department and inspectors stamps, the butt stamped with Enfield roundel and fitted with brass butt plate containing sprung trap.
