Fretless banjo by George Mathew, the wanlut neck

Fretless banjo by George Mathew, the walnut neck fitted with ebony head veneer and fingerboard inlaid with crescent and stars and dots in mother of pearl, impressed 'Geo P. Matthew 637' to the reverse side of the perch pole, as well as 637 to the rim beside the neck join, overall length 93cm Condition report: The neck has typical scuffs and scratches from age and use. It appears to be relatively straight with a slight forward curve, the neck angle could do with adjusting in order to maintain a favourable action. There has been a repair around the nut area of the instrument, all appears to be stable with this repair. The head is tarnished shows signs of age, but is in good order three of the adjusting nuts have been replaced.
