Austrian Rifled Musket, retro converted back from either tube lock or percussion to flintlock, the lock with '851' 1851 date, 33inch octagonal to round barrel with folding ladder sight, stamped 'Ferf-Fruwirth, brass trigger guard with spur, fitted with a leather sling.
This was originally a Lorenz 1862 Jaegerstutzen, many of which were converted by the Belgian trade for sale in the Middle and Far East, the flintlock actions being more accessible in use as well as getting round certain prohibitions of the sale of “modern” arms to much of Africa.
Section 58(2) Antique /obsolete calibre, can be owned without a licence.
