A Mid-Late 19th Century Chinese Export Tea Caddy of Octagonal Outline, black lacquered with profuse gilt decoration featuring panels of figures in pavilion settings and dragons chasing the Sacred Pearl against lotus blooms, scrolls and further floral sprays, the interior housing twin lift-out paktong containers with internal and outer covers, the tops and outer covers bearing engraved figural and floral decoration, the body set with lozenge escutcheon and raised on four carved and gilt paw feet.
