Ships log book of Martha commanded by Captain Philip Dumaresq, probably kept by an un named Master between January 15th and May 7th 1834 for the voyage between Canton to Boston. The log details incidents such as a flogging for insolence, and a man being put into irons for refusing to work, there is also a false alarm of an encounter with a suspected Pirate ship.
