Rene Halkett (1900-1983), Girl with Bird, signed and dated '51, oil on board, 62 x 50cm.; 24.5 x 19.75in. * Halkett, born Albrecht Georg Friedrich von Frisch, was a pupil of Klee, Moholy-Nagy and Kandinsky at The Bauhaus and settled in Cornwall after the war where he lectured, wrote poetry and art criticism. He continued to promote Bauhaus ideals until his death in 1983.
