Ships Log by Richard Kay abroad East India ship 'Kellie Castle' commanded by Captain Lindsay, the log details a voyage from Macao to England between March 11th and August 14th 1822. Kay appears to have no duties and spacious accommodation hence is thought to be a Company official. The log details frequent illness of Kay, Captain Lindsay and surgeon Mr Elliot. On 25th July the log details the death of the Captain. End notes detail a magnetic ball compass as well as Company rules for protecting their china cargoes.
