Chinese export red and white ivory figural chess set, 19th century, each of three sections with a puzzle ball stem, king height 133mm, in a mahogany box. Condition report: red pieces - king missing top finial, two pawns with broken polearms, minor rubbing and nicks to most pieces; white pieces - four pawns with broken swords, generally some minor nicks and small losses. Base of the box has woodworm.
