A Royal Mint 1987 Gold Bullion Britannia, Twenty-five pounds, Obverse portrait by Raphael Maklouf R. Standing figure of Britannia facing to the left holding a trident with shield at her side, with the word 'BRITANNIA', the inscription '1/4 OUNCE FINE GOLD' and the date of the year, reverse design by Philip Nathan, struck in 22-carat gold, weight 8.51g, diameter 22mm, in a Britannia Building Society case.

* These 1987 Quarter Ounce Gold Britannia Coins were the first 0.25 oz Britannias to be issued.
