Pearlware Admiral Lord Nelson jug also a Jan van Speyk plate.

Pearlware Admiral Lord Nelson jug circa 1805, printed with a portrait titled 'England expects every man to do his duty' the reverse printed of flowers, 17.5cm high. Also a Dawson pearlware Jan van Speyk, 1805 - 1831 commemorative plate 22cm diameter. On the 5th February 1831 Jan van Speyk famously blew his own ship up by igniting the powder magazine rather than surrender the vessel to a Belgian raiding party during the Belgian Revolution. Condition report: The jug has restorations to the foot, spout and the handle join. The plate is free from damages or restorations, there is a factory fault to the rim.
