Simon Carroll has been widely celebrated as one of the leading ceramicists of recent times with Emmanuel Cooper describing him as 'one of the more adventurous, fearless and challenging of the younger generation of potters' in his obituary for The Guardian. He was awarded the Arts Foundation Prize in 2004 following a breakthrough show at the Tate in St. Ives and went on to achieve international recognition, holding exhibitions, lectures and demonstrations in Hong Kong, the US, Australia and New Zealand; permanent collections of his work are held at the V&A Museum in London and Amgueddfa Cymru – Museum Wales.
