Jocelyn Burton (1946-2020) was a talented gold and silversmith. After much early success, Burton set up her own studio and workshop in London in 1971. In 1974, Jocelyn became the first woman to be made a freeman of the Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths.
During her fantastic career, Jocelyn was accoladed with awards such as the De Beers Award of 1968 for excellence in jewellery design, the UK Jeweller Award in 1995, and was the first woman to be awarded the Prince Philip Medal in 2003.
Exquisitely detailed in her own 'Baroque Modern' style, Jocelyn Burton's work features mythical, classical and ocean motifs. With richly textured and finely detailed silver and jewellery, her work appeals to a wide collector base.
