AYA Shotguns
Aguirre y Aranzabal (AYA) shotguns are a well-known brand founded in 1915. The gunmaker is based in the Basque region of Spain and it took a visit from brothers Andrew and Peter King to bring AYA shotguns to the attention of gun enthusiasts in the UK when they set up a company that began importing them to the UK in the 1950s.
AYA’s double barrelled shotguns are produced as either side-by-side or over-and-under sub types with each example produced with the utmost attention to detail. There are rare examples of specially made guns that achieve high prices at auction.
Examples of AYA shotguns have sold at our auctions for prices ranging from £90 to £900 for one 12-bore example sold recently. This reflects the enduring appeal these guns have with collectors and gun collectors who are drawn to the brand’s prestige and status.
