The genius of John Moses Browning cannot be overstated. His market-changing designs and patents of the late 19th century and the early 20th century changed the path of firearm history for good. For most of the late 19th century, Winchester bought every single design Browning made whether they intended to use it or not. Today Browning is mainly known by gun enthusiasts in the UK for shotguns. Browning shotguns come in all ranges and budgets from the most plainly blued workhorse of a gun to fabulously engraved examples signed by the engraver with fancy grade walnut stocks. No matter what grade a Browning shotgun is it always commands attention in auction catalogs and we often see bidders keen to add such a famous name to their collection.
