Alvar Aalto (1898–1976) was a Finnish architect, designer, and sculptor, widely regarded as one of the key figures in modernist architecture and design during the 20th century. The Finnish architect, artist and designer Alvar Aalto (1898-1976) was a titan of 20th century design.  His holistic approach, encompassed in the term Gesamtkunstwerk or ‘a total work of art’, started with architectural plans but included all aspects of the interior as well, from furniture to textiles and glassware. 

Works by Alvar Aalto do appear on the market, often as editions of designs he provided for firms such as the furniture company Finmar Ltd or the glass firm IitalaWilson55 welcome enquiries regarding works by or produced as designs after Alvar Aalto for inclusion in our Modern Art & Design sale held four times a year.
