Paulo Venini Overview

Originally trained in law, Venini abandoned his legal career in favour of pursuing his passion for glassmaking. In 1925, he co-founded Vetri Soffiati Muranesi Cappellin Venini & C. on the island of Murano, later known simply as Venini & C. Under his visionary direction, the company collaborated with leading architects and designers including Carlo Scarpa, Fulvio Bianconi, and Gio Ponti. These partnerships produced bold, colourful, and innovative forms that redefined Murano glass.

Venini’s pieces are characterised by refined silhouettes, sophisticated colour palettes, and impeccable technique. His exploration of processes such as murrine, incalmo, and sommerso led to timeless creations that continue to inspire collectors and designers alike.
