October Designer Sale

Hammer Highlights

Our last Designer & Luxury Sale before Christmas was certainly one to remember. Strong hammer prices were achieved across all sections, including luggage bags, handbags, purses, scarves, costume jewellery and pens. With style-savvy bidders fighting for the lots of their choice over our three internet bidding platforms (Wilson Live, The-Saleroom and Invaluable) as well as via telephone and commission bids, a broad spectrum of designer names achieved fantastic hammer prices. Below are a list of our highest hammer prices, but to view the results in full, click here.

Unsurprisingly perhaps, the top-selling lot was a beautiful Chanel Double Flap handbag. Finished in soft quilted black lambskin leather, and finished with gold-tone hardware, this colour combination is undoubtedly one of Chanel's most popular and sought-after bags. After a flurry of bidding from local and international participants, the hammer fell at £2,400. With the rising price of Chanel bags in the retail sphere, it is no wonder that these bags are achieving fantastic prices at auction. One of the most colourful lots in the sale, and possibly the most popular bag at our viewing events, this Louis Vuitton 'Blossom Edition' wallet on chain in black Epi leather with multicoloured floral detailing and twisting maker's monogram clasp sold for £900. Other limited edition Louis Vuitton pieces to achieve high hammer prices included a suede Onatah Flowers Handbag, circa 2006 that sold for £510. These lots really prove the desirability for limited edition designer pieces at auction that are not available to purchase through retail channels, enticing interest and bidding from all three of our online platforms on sale day.
