We hold four dedicated Northern Art auctions each year featuring the work of Lucy Manfredi. We offer a free appraisal service as well as a free collection service for items consigned to these auctions.
Born in 1974 in Stockport, Cheshire, Lucy Manfredi has been creating art for as long as she can remember. From the moment she could hold a pencil or brush, drawing and painting became her natural form of expression. While primarily self-taught, Lucy honed her skills academically, first studying Art at the University of Manchester, then completing a master’s degree at the University of Brighton.
Lucy's artistic practice spans several mediums, but she is especially passionate about drawing, painting, and hand-drawn animation. Her work is rooted deeply in imagination, often bringing to life whimsical British scenes and subjects with a distinctive sense of humour and warmth. Whether through lively characters or nostalgic landscapes, her art invites viewers into a world that feels both familiar and enchantingly quirky.
A strong sense of British identity runs throughout her work, inspired by the everyday charm of UK life and the shared cultural memories of growing up in Britain during the late 20th century. Her childhood memories, in particular, serve as a rich source of inspiration - infusing her pieces with a sentimental yet playful tone that many find instantly relatable. Lucy’s goal is simple: to create artwork that brings a smile, evokes nostalgia, and connects with people who remember "how great it was" growing up in a certain era of British life.
