Doxa Watches

Doxa was founded in the heart of the Jura Mountains in 1889 by Georges Ducommun. After training as a watchmaker in 1880, Ducommun created his company named 'Georges Ducommun, Fabriques Doxa' aged just 21. Greek for 'Glory,' the name 'Doxa' was to echo the exceptional timepieces that the company created. Amongst the first of Doxa's prized timepieces was their eight day calibre that was patented in 1908 and was widely used in dash mounted clocks.

Doxa Chronograph Watches at Auction

Amongst the highest selling Doxa watches at auction are 1940s and 50s stainless steel chronographs. Sleek dress watches with tachy and telemeter scales, double or triple calendar functions, and pushers to 2 and 4 are incredibly rare and as such can fetch thousands of pounds under the hammer. These timepieces sell best with targeted marketing and specialist sales, so contact our team today for a free, confidential, and up-to-date valuation of your Doxa watch.

Doxa Diver's Watches at Auction

From the 1960s onwards, Doxa as a company decided to create a line of diver's watches. The Sub 300 was purpose built as a dive watch. Featuring angular hands and markers, an original bright orange dial for increased visibility and famed 'beads-of-rice' bracelet, this distinctive watch quickly became an iconic diver's watch to sit alongside the Rolex Submariner and Blancpain Fifty Fathoms. The Sub 300 was very popular, and as such various models and iterations of this iconic watch were released by Doxa, including the 'Searambler', 'Seahunter', 'Spirotechnique' and 'Sharkhunter' (pictured below).
