Ilias Lalaounis Jewellery

Lalaounis pieces are inspired by classical jewellery, and in this respect have a timeless, enduring appeal to collectors worldwide. Inspired by the ancient jewellery of his country Greece, Ilias Lalaounis exhibited his first collection in 1957 whilst working for his uncle’s reputed jewellery company Zolotas.

Following his uncle’s passing in 1966, Lalaounis decided to create his own eponymous company. He quickly enjoyed great success with his 18 and 22ct gold pieces, very rarely accented with gemstones, reaching the height of fashion in the 1960s and continuing to produce a remarkable output of designs up until the present day. An internationally renowned goldsmith, Lalaounis is the only jeweller to ever be inducted into the Académie des Beaux-Arts.
