Timeless, stylish and extremely wearable, Fope jewellery showcases the very best in Italian jewellery design. Widely known for their innovation in chain making, Fope jewels are distinctive and instantly recognisable.
Founded in 1929 with only twenty goldsmiths under Umberto Cazzola, FICM created primarily bracelets and straps catering to the booming Swiss watchmaking industry, quickly becoming the leading supplier in Italy. This work continued throughout the early 20th century, with FICM exhibiting at the Vicenza Fair. In the 1960s, Odino Cazzola changed the brand name to FOPE, translating to Factory Of Precious Jewellery Import.
In the 1970s and 80s, the company really began to experiment and innovate with fine jewellery in addition to their thriving watch straps and case business. It was in 1985 that the brand's iconic 'Novecento' mesh chain was developed, and this is one of the brand's design hallmarks to this day. The 'Flex It' range of jewellery, incorporating rings, bracelets, necklaces, earrings and much more retains the flexibility and seamless style of the classic Novecento chain and appeals to international bidder to this day.
Bold and bright, gold Fope jewellery sells extremely well at auction. Top prices go to suites of 'Flex It' jewellery, comprising necklaces, bracelets and rings, as well as matching sets of bracelets, bangles and impressive lariat necklaces. Fine Fope Jewellery accented with pave set diamond accents, as well as items complete in the original boxes sell well at auction and hold a lasting appeal with discerning bidders.
