A steadfast dedication to excellence, and to "always do better than neccessary" have ensured Piaget's place amongst the most respected of the luxury watchmakers. Founded in 1874 by a 19 year old Georges-Edouard Piaget. The firm continued to grow under the watch of Georges' son Timothee, and in the 1950s was responsible for groundbreaking ultra thin watches as well as the 'Salon Piaget,' in which some of their most creative, breathtaking jewelled watches and jewellery pieces were designed.
The creative flair of the high jewellery timepieces are really what Piaget collectors go for at auction, pieces set with semi precious gemstones such as lapis lazuli, tiger's eye, malachite, as well as precious gemstone watches set in gold from the 1970s are particularly sought-after. Colourful, hardstone dials in sleek thin cases combined with wonderful textured bracelets are a trademark of the brand, with pieces for both ladies and gents. Piaget jewellery is equally as sought after, with breath-taking and wearable pieces very much in line with the company's commitment to exceptional design.
